DescriptionAlice U. Kerr (1858-1949) was elected as Mayor of Edmonds, Washington in 1924, one of the first women to hold this office in Washington state. Serving until 1927, Kerr's mayoral attentions were focused on moral issues. In her own words, "There has been too much booze, too many pool hall disturbances and too slack an administration of the law here for the public good."
