| Description | Anson Butler Moody (1892-July 29, 1984) was a key figure in the paper banking industry, the son of Robert (organizer of the American National Bank) and Ella Moody. Anson graduated in the 1914 Everett High School class, attended University of Washington for three years and then served in the Navy during World War I. He began working at Everett Pulp and Paper and eventually advanced to a position as Manager. In 1951 he negotiated the sale of the paper mill to Simpson and in 1954 retired as Simpson's vice president and general manager. Anson joined the board of Everett General Hospital in 1943, serving as its president for 15. Moody also was director of First National Bank of Everett, Everett Trust and Savings, and Seattle First National Bank in Everett. He was a member of Everett Yacht Club, Everett Golf and Country Club, the Cascade Club, Everett Elks, and Orcas Island Yacht Club. |
